Leading Thailand post-production facility places first worldwide order for newest IMAGICA scanner

IMAGICA Corp. announced today that Oriental Post Co. Ltd., Bangkok, Thailand, has purchased IMAGICA's newest scanner, the IMAGER XE(R) -ADVANCED PLUS-. The new scanner has been installed and is already in use by Oriental Post.

Founded in 1998 as a joint venture between 2 well-known Thai conglomerates, Kantana Animation and Loxley Video Post, Oriental Post Co. Ltd is a leading post production center providing high-end video post production and digital intermediate (DI) facilities for Thai and international clients. The company has post-produced many Asian blockbuster films and international award-winning Television Commercials.

Bobbie Wong, President of Oriental Post remarks, "We started experimenting with DI in 2001 and since then we have built our reputation in the region. As the market has moved into DI, we have seen increasing demand and higher expectation of our clients in terms of speed and better quality. Only by expanding our current scanning capacity and acquiring an additional film scanner, the IMAGER XE(R) -ADVANCED PLUS-, are we able to cope with multiple projects in hand and stay ahead".

The IMAGER XE(R) -ADVANCED PLUS-scans 35mm motion picture film at the speed of 1.9 seconds per frame for 4K and 1.3 second per frame for 2K. This new feature is available as an upgrade for the current IMAGER XE(R) -ADVANCED- users. 35mm 3perf/8perf and 16mm/Super 16mm are also available as options. Additionally, a liquid gate is now available as an option, which will enable the elimination of the effects of film scratches and dust. This feature will reduce the cost of the dust and scratch removal process of mastering old 'classic' films, which have been in high demand from digital archive facilities that have the capability of Perchloroethylene solutions for liquid gate.
