IMAGICA has entered MOU with RELIANCE MEDIAWORKS’ US SUBSIDIARY LOWRY DIGITAL

IMAGICA Corp. (head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Tsuguya Kitade hereinafter “IMAGICA”) has entered MOU with RELIANCE MEDIAWORKS’ US SUBSIDIARY LOWRY DIGITAL (head office: Burbank, California, CEO Anil Arjun, hearinafter “Lowry Digital”) in January, 2010 and agree to offer the digital restoration services with Lowry Digital’s technology in Japan.

Lowry Digital」 has the world top-level unique digital technology about film restoration and image enhancement, producing a lot of high-end imaging contents. Lowry Digital has handled projects such as Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon” (Japanese film,©1950KADOKAWA PICTURES), “The Star Wars Trilogy”, “James Bond series”, “The Godfather” I and II, and Disney’s films such the “Sleeping Beauty”, etc. and has a dominant presence in this services.

The needs, film restoration of aged and deteriorated great pictures to clean up close to be original and upscale resolution convert from SD to HD for digital broadcasting terrestrial, is growing in Japan these days. IMAGICA is providing enhanced quality services to fill these demands with time-proven Lowry Digital.

In addition, IMAGICA is going to expand versatile restoration services for aged films and tapes with IMAGICA WEST Corp. (head office: Osaka-shi, Osaka, President and Representative Director: Hiromi Inatsuchi), which is one of group companies of IMAGICA, cooperating with each other more smoothly especially in the film restoration services. IMAGICA offers total solution such as restoration, archiving, and asset management, from physical film restoration services with matured technicians’ skills to the digital restoration services with new digital technology, based on the highly know-how from the 75-year experience since IMAGICA was established.

IMAGICA is going to keep on providing the high quality services for restoration and archiving by working closely with Lowry Digital’s technologies and cooperating with the group companies such as IMAGICA WEST Corp.
